Project Overview
ATSER was engaged by the contractor to deliver on-site scheduling and project management services for the $360 million expansion of the George R. Brown Convention Center, one of Houston’s premier event venues. The project increased the convention center’s size from 1.15 million square feet to 1.8 million square feet, accommodating the city’s growing demand for large-scale events and conferences.
Project Background
This $1.87 million road improvement project, led by Harris County Precinct 3, focused on extending two additional rigid pavement lanes to complete a four-lane concrete boulevard from Woodson Terrace Drive to Greenhouse Road. Located in Atascocita, Texas, the project also involved comprehensive drainage mitigation to improve water management and reduce flooding risks. Reconstruction of intersections and tie-ins to the newly constructed main lanes enhanced traffic flow and connectivity.
The Problem
The existing roadway infrastructure was insufficient to accommodate growing traffic demands, and inadequate drainage systems posed significant flooding risks. The project required rigorous construction and inspection processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and mitigate future infrastructure issues.
